Effective November 7, 2026
The short version
MyFinancialOrbit helps you get organized and learn. It isn't a financial adviser, and its numbers, forecasts and AI answers are estimates that can be wrong. Check important things yourself and talk to a licensed professional before big decisions.
This summary is here to help. The full text below is what applies.
1. Education and organization, not advice
MyFinancialOrbit is a tool to help you organize your finances and learn about money. Everything it shows, including Orbit's answers, insights, suggested budgets, forecasts, calculators, tax estimates, scenarios, goal plans, growth pathways and earning ideas, is general information for educational purposes.
It is not financial, investment, tax, accounting, legal, insurance or other professional advice, and it is not a recommendation or offer to buy, sell or hold any security, fund, account or financial product.
2. We are not a registered adviser
MyFinancialOrbit and the people behind it are not registered with any securities regulator or the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO) as a dealer, adviser or portfolio manager, and are not licensed financial planners, insurance agents, accountants or lawyers. We don't know your full situation, such as your tax position, health, family obligations or tolerance for risk.
3. Estimates, forecasts and calculators
- Forecasts and projections are hypothetical. They assume your past patterns and the inputs you chose will continue, which rarely happens exactly.
- Investment growth uses the return rates you enter. Real returns go up and down, can be negative, and past performance doesn't predict future results.
- Tax estimates use 2026 federal and provincial rules for common employment income situations. They don't cover Quebec provincial tax or many credits, deductions and special cases, and they aren't filing advice.
- Mortgage, savings and goal calculations are simplified and may differ from your lender's or institution's figures.
- Salary, career and earning-idea figures are rough estimates for illustration, not offers, guarantees or predictions of what you will earn.
4. AI-generated answers
When live AI is on, Orbit's answers are generated automatically by a third-party AI model and aren't checked by a person. They can be wrong, incomplete, out of date or made up, even when they sound sure. Treat them as a starting point for your own research, and confirm anything important with a qualified professional or an official source such as the Canada Revenue Agency.
5. Your numbers are only as good as what's entered
MyFinancialOrbit doesn't connect to your bank. Balances, transactions and imports depend on the information you provide, and automatic reading of statements and screenshots can make mistakes. Always check results against your official statements.
6. Shared finances
Splits, balances and agreements in Together are a record to help you and others stay organized. They aren't legal agreements and don't move money.
7. Your decisions are yours
You are responsible for your financial decisions and their results. For important decisions, such as investing, taking on debt, buying a home, taxes, insurance, retirement or estate planning, please speak with a qualified, licensed professional. A fee-only financial planner can give advice without selling you products. See our Terms of Service for the limits on our responsibility.
